Can Clean supports fire and smoke restoration with IICRC FSRT-certified technicians. Our role is to assess the agreed areas, document the effects and organize the authorized restoration work with the property and insurance contacts.

What happens in the first 24 hours

Confirm that the site has been released for access by the relevant authorities. Identify the authorized contact, review affected structures and contents, record initial conditions and separate immediate restoration decisions from longer-term repairs. Water from suppression efforts may also require assessment and moisture readings.

The restoration process

  1. Confirm release and authorization: establish safe access and who can approve the work.
  2. Assess fire, soot and smoke effects: document affected surfaces, contents and access limitations.
  3. Define cleaning and handling: agree materials, methods, priorities and specialist referrals.
  4. Complete the authorized work: carry out cleaning and deodorization appropriate to the assessed scope.
  5. Document the handover: record the work, unresolved conditions and reconstruction or specialist next steps.

Support the claim record

Use condition photographs, agreed scope, work notes and relevant moisture records to help the authorized parties understand what was observed and performed. Do not disturb potential evidence or represent Can Clean as an insurer-appointed contractor without a confirmed arrangement.

Can you start before a fire scene is released?

Site access and work depend on the release and authorization of the relevant authorities.

Are reconstruction and contents replacement included?

Only where expressly included in the agreed scope; other needs are identified for the appropriate party.
