What happens in the first 24 hours

For an incident, document the affected material and known exposure, identify access and handling needs, and assess whether specialist restoration or another course of action is appropriate. Water-related textile losses may require moisture readings and coordinated drying decisions.

The service process

  1. Inspect: review the fibre/material, construction, condition and incident history.
  2. Define the scope: distinguish routine cleaning from contamination or damage restoration.
  3. Test and plan: assess colour/material response and choose the appropriate agreed method.
  4. Clean or restore within scope: manage extraction, handling and drying requirements for the material.
  5. Document and hand over: record the service, limitations and return-to-use guidance.

Records for incident-related work

Provide agreed condition photos, relevant readings and service notes to the authorized contacts. Replacement, salvageability and claim decisions must not be promised in advance of assessment and approval.

Is this the same as routine floor care?

Routine commercial carpet extraction also appears under Commercial Floor Care. This page covers material assessment and the restoration pathway.
